Torres Pledges Loyalty For Liverpool
After much speculation surrounding Torres potential departure from Liverpool this past summer, it was with great relief to many Liverpool supporters to see Fernando back in training yesterday morning in Melwood.
It’s true that action’s speak louder than words, but words also can be very helpful. Torres took a time out to verbally express his love and loyalty for Liverpool, his opinions on Joe Cole, and new manager Roy Hodgons.
“I’m looking forward to my fourth season at Anfield. My dedication and loyalty towards the club and the Liverpool red shirt is just as strong as the day I signed.
Following the World Cup and my time away on holiday, both Liverpool FC and myself decided to stick together. I’m happy to be here for another season.
During my holidays I met up with the new manager. He made a good impression and I’m sure that he will do a great job at the club. He has my full backing and support.
I hope that with the help of my new teammates we can bring back the glory days to Anfield. Joe Cole is just the player the club needs to return to winning ways.
The fact that Liverpool FC has kept hold of its most important players is a sign of the club’s intentions. This is the first step towards a great future.”
