Man U Legend Stats Not Signing Torres Was A Mistake

img4b05993a7c26f Playing professional football for 12 clubs in a career that spans over 19 years, Manchester United legend Andy Cole reveals his feelings over Man U mistake of not snatching up Torres while they still could.

“Not signing Torres was a mistake because I’ve spoke to several of the current United players about him and they all say the same thing: ‘Top, top player.’

Can you imagine Torres as a Red Devil playing for Manchester United instead of Liverpool? What an odd and perplexing parallel universe that would be!

I can see things now…Evra, Nani, Rooney and Torres??? Hahaha, sorry, honestly I can’t really picture Torres as a Red Devil. Can you?

Andy Cole sure can as he admired Torres way of settling into English football from the get go.

“Torres stunned me when he arrived from Atletico Madrid because he settled so quickly. The Premier League is totally different to the Primera Liga, but you wouldn’t know it watching Torres. He reminds me of that great Liverpool goalscorer Ian Rush. He seems to drift in and out of games while always remaining a threat. At times, Torres can make out he’s almost uninterested, and then tunes in, just like that, and he’s away with the ball with fantastic pace.”

“Torres’s game isn’t just about the box, but he’s most dangerous there because his close control allows him to take possession in confined areas. He can transfer the ball from foot to foot to create space to get in a shot.”

So there you go, some food for thought or rather a disturbing image of what could of been….Fernando Torres as a Manchester United player. Thanks for the picture Cole!
