Congradulations! See ya next year!
Liverpool ensured an easy win against the Baggies, finishing of with a 2-0 win for the Merseysiders. Thanks to two goals from Steven Gerrard and Dirk Kuyt, the Reds finish of the season with their highest tally in the Premier League, they finish the term with 83 points.
While there is no consolation for missing out on the title following United’s draw against Arsenal, Rafa Benitez will take heart from the fact his team took the race to the penultimate weekend, a feat not achieved by any of his three predecessors.
The 208-2009 was a great for the Reds, who played marvelously and came within inches to with the Premier League. Torres managed to rack up a total of 13 goals, making him the 5th top scorer of the league.
A very close race that made their rivals, Manchester United, sweat till the very last moments of the tournament. As much as Torres and the rest of the Liverpool squad desired to win, not everything in life is possible and I know with such great squad at hand, the 2009-2010 season will have great things in store for our Reds.
So I just want to say, congratulations Manchester, you had a great season and have taken the Premier League title once more — but watch out, because the Reds are stacking up and getting ready for next season and are gunning for Premiership title!
